HSE has considered the approval and monitoring arrangements to support the introduction of the new 3 day First Aid at Work (FAW) and 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work(EFAW) training courses (including annual refeshers).
It is proposed that the existing HSE approved Training Organisations will be able to run both the new 3 day FAW and 1 day EFAW training courses without the need for any additional approval.
However an alternative approval system (outside of HSE) is being considered for those Training Organisations wanting to run the 1 day EFAW course only and not the full FAW course.
HSE aims to publish a statement on its website (which I will bring to you) in the Autumn about these proposed arrangements.
This will be followed by external consultation on the draft guidance for Employers and Training Organisations
