PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID APPROVAL

Following my previous comments (in NEWSUPDATE 1 in 2008) I have now received responses from a number of members asking if we can set up a Registration Scheme for Paediatric First Aid.

I have recently written to the Department for Children, Schools and Families (following previous letters to NCMA and PLA) offering the facility of a Paediatric Register (possibly covering Approval and Monitoring) and so making it easier for Local Authorities to find Training Organisations who can be guaranteed to provide a good
standard of Paediatric First Aid training.

Already this year I have been approached by several Local Authorities asking for names of Training Providers.

FOFATO are therefore proposing to set up a National Approval and Monitoring Scheme for Paediatric First Aid Training which can be used by employers and Local Authorities and can also show HSE that we are capable of running a national approval scheme.

Would Federation members please let me to know if you are interested in joining this scheme.

IF YOU KNOW OF ANY FIRST AID TRAINING ORGANISATION CONSIDERING JOINING FOFATO

Please ask them to look at our website www.fofato.co.uk and if they require any further information then do not hesitate to ask them to contact me (Ian Kershaw) on 0161 494 9045 or 07786 018451.

YOUR VIEWS ARE IMPORTANT TO ME

If anybody has any thoughts or ideas in relation to improving the website and/or the Federation then please let me know. I am always willing to listen.
